Joint Task Force meeting on “Promoting use of Spent Pot Liners in Cement Co-processing”

The first Joint Task Force meet on “Promoting use of Spent Pot Liners in Cement Co-processing” was organised under the Knowledge Exchange Platform (KEP), which is a joint initiative of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and Institute for Industrial Productivity (IIP), on 8th January, 2016 at Marigold Board Room, India Habitat Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi. KEP is aimed at transfer of best practices within and across different industry sectors covered under the Perform Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme.

As per the recommendations made at the Roundtable on 22nd September, 2015, KEP created a Joint Task Force on ‘Promoting the use of Spent Pot Liners in Cement Co-processing’. To ensure a holistic approach and to address the relevant issues, the Task Force was structured to ensure representation from both industry sectors viz. Aluminium and Cement; get the perspective of Regulators, viz. Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB); and also to get the feedback of technology suppliers/ developers.

Roundtable on “Use of Spent Pot Liners in Cement Co-processing” at Bhabha Chamber, Scope Complex, New Delhi

22nd September, 2015

A Round Table on “Promoting use of Spent Pot Liners in Cement Co-processing” was organised under the Knowledge Exchange Platform (KEP), which is a joint initiative of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and Institute for Industrial Productivity (IIP) on 22nd September, 2015 at SCOPE New Delhi‏. KEP is aimed at transfer of best practices within and across different in industry sectors covered under the Perform Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme. In line with this objective, KEP has initiated a ‘Knowledge Series’ on key policy and thematic issues and this round table was structured around the concept of ‘Circular Economy’.

The Round table was attended by more than 50 participants with representation from key opinion leaders of Aluminium and Cement Sectors, Industry Association (Cement Manufactures’ Association (CMA) and Jawaharlal Aluminium Design and Development Research Centre (JNARDDC), Technology Supplier (Regain, Australia), Regulators (Central Pollution Control Board), BEE and IIP.

Promoting Resource Efficiency in Textile Sector: Possibilities for South-South Cooperation

In order to sensitize the delegation from Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) on resource efficiency in Indian Textile Sector, Institute for Industrial Productivity (IIP) in association with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under Knowledge Exchange Platform (KEP) initiative, organized a half day roundtable discussion on 17th September, 2015 at BEE Office, Sewa Bhawan, R K Puram Sector 1, New Delhi. The objective of this roundtable was to showcase the efforts and schemes of Government of India to make industries more resilient in the field of energy efficiency and also to present how industry is responding to the regulations and improving resource and end use efficiency.

Policy Roundtable on “Efficient Market for ESCerts in India”

6th August, 2015

The Knowledge Exchange Platform has initiated a ‘Knowledge Series’ on key policy and thematic issues and linked to them a series of papers on‘Policy Round Table’ with a focused group of stakeholders to seek inputs, comments and feedback on some of the key recommendations made in these papers with the intent to make them relevant to the tackling the issues and challenges currently facing the industry sector. The first policy roundtable in this context was organised on “Efficient Market for ESCerts in India” on 6th August 2015 (02.30pm – 05.30 pm) at Bureau of Energy Efficiency, New Delhi.

The meeting was attended by 63 participants with representation from key opinion leaders of all 8 PAT sectors, Industry Associations, organizations associated with Trading mechanism of PAT (Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, Central Electricity Authority, India Energy Exchange, PXIL, Power System Operation Corporation Ltd. and Global Energy Pvt. Limited) and Government and Research Organizations .
